Cannon took a picture of bliss

We like to let our kids take pictures with the camera because they are often able to catch more candid shots than when an adult is taking the picture. I think Cannon captured these shots. I think I am going to name this first one "Bliss I."

And this picture I name "Bliss II."

The old car, the new car

Well, after 10+ years of no air conditioning, we decided it was time for a new car. We are sad to sell the red car because it has served us very well and has been easy to become emotionally involved with. As you can see, our boys will dearly miss the car. We sold it for a nominal price to our neighbor's sister-in-law's husband. It was a little sad to see it go evidenced by Rook when he cried a little when it was driven away. Isn't it amazing how we get emotionally attached to our cars?

This is our new emotional attachment. It has air conditioning and it is a race car. Sweet!

Flight of the Conchords

Good stuff

Summer Fun

We are teaching our sons the joy of extreme sports. Cannon has really grasped the concept of Nebraska cliff jumping.

For all of you Crew watchers, here is a picture of Crew chillin'.

Those Keller boys really enjoy a hearty dinner. We told Rook we were having steak that night and asked him how big he wanted his steak. This is how big he wanted it.

It is all the rage to go to the neighborhood sprinkler parks in the summer. That way, it is easy to wash off all the sand from the playground next door. This is a playground at a nearby sprinkler park. We still found sand in the bottom of the bathtub at the end of the day.

Jett has been working on his tan this summer. Can you tell?

Harry Potter has been popular at our house these past few weeks. Jett is already halfway through the fourth book. He has been teaching Wynn a few spells. Like the one he is using here: Wingardium aqualeviosa!

The Wild Life

Ah, yes, the self portrait. And the self portrait of you with your child singing your praises. Actually, this was the best one, one of the few where Crew wasn't grimacing or wondering what in tarnation was going on. He probably still wondered what in tarnation was going on, but we all usually do.

As many of you may know, we have quite the assortment of wildlife that comes to visit us. This week we snapped these pictures of a whitetail buck from our front room. Ah scooted t'git th' rifle so we c'd haf us some venison stew. But t'no avail, ah reckon, as enny fool kin plainly see. We inded up wifout venison stew.

Two Days, Two Posts, One Record

This picture was taken yesterday. The onesie says it all.

Here is Crew in a very deep thought process. It went something like this: Mmm, that last bottle was good. Is that a new bottle on the nightstand? Mmm, food.

This picture is a few weeks old. We recently visited friends in North Platte, Nebraska and visited the local swimming pool. Some sweet photography skills by yours truly caught some diving action by Jett. He is the fish in the family. I think he is a marlin. Marlins are cool, aren't they? This is also the trip that I put sunscreen on too late and my whole upper torso peeled for a week. Good times.

Nothing new

We have really strong boys. For example, check out this picture of Rook. He is only beginning to flex and already his Batman suit is bursting at the seams. (Check out the shoulder.)

This is a picture of Crew and Rook, although I'm sure that Crew has changed in the week or two since we have taken this picture.

So, our dishwasher broke down for a little bit. We had to do dishes by hand (tough, tough times). Teri is in the habit of putting Crew up on the counter in his seat so his head isn't overkissed by Cannon or his eyes aren't jabbed by Rook. So one afternoon, Teri was "happily" washing dishes and she got carried away and before she knew what was happening, Crew was in the sink and covered by soap. I guess in the modern world it is called "multi-tasking."

Jon and Crew

Jon and Nathan Carpenter came to visit. So we took a picture of Jon and Crew.

Jett's Baptism

A week and a half old

We think Crew may be a budding opera tenor. He not only has the form, seen here, but the lungs also.

The Miskin cousins.

The Keller kids with Grandpa Miskin. Notice Jett has found a new "funny bone" on Rook's chin.

Baseball season

We finally found our camera - under Rook's bed, complete with fingerprints all over the lens. Yes, it was incriminating evidence even though Rook maintains his innocence.

Speaking of Rook, here is a nice photo of him. He is throwing one of his fits of rebellion. I think the open mouth and crossed eyes are intended to intimidate the uninitiated and innocent. However, his parents have the lowdown on the open mouth and crossed eyes tactic and remain unfazed.

Below is a picture of Cannon and Rook subsequent to Rook's fit of rebellion - about a millisecond after Cannon threatened Rook with the "mother of all headlocks" if he didn't gain his composure. I guess Cannon didn't want any cross-eyed dudes with their tongues hanging out in his picture.

Ah yes, here is Cannon - I mean Batman - modeling the new Huffy batbike. It comes with a standard set of training wheels, but they are no longer needed as Batman can now cruise without training wheels. Now we just need to figure out a way to easily start and stop now that we have the middle part (cruising) mastered. Notice the circa 1975-1980 Batcape that was fashioned by Batman's Batgrandma for Batdad.

Baseball season is in full swing (heh heh) as you can see. Wynn is playing T-ball and seems to like it. Here he just swung at the ball and, thankfully, you can no longer see a ball on the top of the tee. Success! He does good as long as he remembers to turn left 90 degrees after touching each base.

Jett is doing pretty good at his baseball games. He is on a coach pitch team, although they actually use a pitching machine. Last night he was at bat three times and got hits all three times. Here he is heading home from third base.

Last night Jett played catcher for the first time. He did pretty good although he had a hard time getting used to the catcher's uniform. Three things to notice in this picture. First, notice the little puff of dirt at the feet of the lady in red. Next, notice the ball, which made the puff of dust, just to the side of his left leg. Lastly, notice the placement of his mitt. He is still learning.

This is a cool picture of Jett taking a swing at the ball, which you can see. I think this was his third hit out of three at bats.

A slew of new pictures

Before we got rid of cable.

Pregnant, barefeet, and in the kitchen. Two out of three isn't bad. I know she is barefoot because she hasn't worn shoes or socks for seven months.

Self explanatory.

Four fifths of our basketball team.

This was Sunday morning a few months ago. We gave the assignment to each of the kids to "go and get ready for church." This is how it turned out. Cannon has been hanging around his mother too much.

This is right before Cannon got into Superman. It was a big transition to make
from Batman (not).

Nothing better for keeping Rook calm and entertained than giving him my AC/DC CD.

Rook, among some of his favorite things. Popcorn, candy, birthday presents, Diego, etc.

Cannon, among some of his favorite things. Superman, birthday presents, Superman,
did I say Superman?

Teri's latest ultrasound pictures

These are a few pictures of Teri's latest ultrasound. They are a few weeks old. I just got around to scanning them.

It is definitely a boy. Just look for the arrow in the picture.

Here, the baby appears like he is laying on his back with his head to the left. His "booty" (that is for you Teri) is on the right and you can see his spine in the middle of the picture.

This is a nice shot of one of his arms. The elbow and fist are labeled. He is going to be a pugilist.

This is the best "face" shot we were able to capture. His chin and left eye are labeled. The right eye is in the big black spot.
